You're wrong.
Lilly had a "special day" this weekend with my parents.
She had been asking (and asking, and asking, and asking...) to spend the night at grandma and grandpas house. There hadn't been a "need" for it lately, so finally we just decided that Saturday night would be the night.
Saturday early afternoon, Lilly was ready to go! She was complete with backpack full of clothes and a couple games, her bear, her dress (requested by grandpa) and "pretty hair." She was excited!
Now, an added bonus of Lilly have a special day with grandma and grandpa is that Zac got a little alone time with mommy and daddy. Bless their little hearts, neither one of the kids get as much individual attention as I would like, so this weekend they both got some!
First, Zac had to fall asleep in his highchair. I guess hanging out with mom is pretty thrilling, huh?
Then, playtime!
Maybe another quick snooze....
Then some bike riding!
Notice that Zac has at least one blankie in each of the above pics? This kid has a blankie ALL THE TIME... and his thumb in his mouth is not far behind. In aobut a year or so I'm probably going to be starting to stress about breaking this habit, but for now I think it's cute. My little boy is growing up SO fast, and his thumb and blankie habit reminds me that he is still my baby.
Sidenote - the blankie's above are Zac's favorite by FAR - my friend Kim made them and they are the perfect size and softness... he has 4 of them I think and I have a constant rotation of them in laundry, crib, and living room. Thanks again Kimmie!
Lilly had a GREAT time at grandma and grandpa's! They took her to dinner (Joe's Crab Shack) and, of course, ice cream (Baskin Robbins), plus had plenty of time to play big girl games, read books, and just have general "big girl" time. And, boy, did she come home worn out!
Who can believe it is February already?

Fun, fun! I'm sure it was a little down time felt by the two of you as well, even though I'm sure you missed Lilly! It is hard to believe it is Feb. already!
It looks like Jeremy was the one who was really worn out! I know Mom and Dad had a fun time with Lilly too!
Zac sure is the little napper, huh?
SO smart of you to have 4 blankies for rotation. We had 2, and it wasn't enough!
It WAS our special day too...but Lilly insisted that it was only HER special day! Well, I guess Mama and Papa have to revel in how wonderful it was in a quiet way..AND we must remember that "Chickens not have fingers!"
So fun! I will have to send Spencer to his grandparents for an overnight one of these days. Looks like Lilly could give him some great advice on what to do once there.
Love the Zac sleeping in the high chair picture!
